Land of the Forgotten v0.9 -- Upgrading from a Previous Version
===============================================================
There is no way to upgrade a v0.8x game to v0.9 due to the massive number of
changes that were made to the game since the last release. Before
installing v0.9, you should completely erase v0.8x from your system, and
remove it from your BBS's menus. Also erase your old RUNLOTF.BAT file.

After doing this, follow the instructions in README.TXT to install the
door from scratch. Be sure to edit the new copy of RUNLOTF.BAT properly.
Several changes have been made in the stock version of RUNLOTF.BAT for v0.9,
so make sure that you use the new version of the file!

Please note that this is the only time you will have to reinstall the game in
order to upgrade. Future versions will have upgrade kits. Sorry for the
inconvenience!

You may wish to re-read README.TXT now, as several changes have been made to
it.

Here is a list of a few changes that took place in v0.9 that affect the Sysop:
 - The game is now registerable. In the registered game, there is no maximum
level for characters, and the game world is much larger. Please see
   README.TXT for information on registration.
 - Sysops may configure the Starting Movement Points for new players.
 - Sysops may configure the Maxiumum MPs an inactive player can accumulate.
 - Sysops can now reset the game world completely by running RESETALL.BAT.
 - Sysops can no longer change the starting gold for new players, the PvP
setting, or the reindex rate setting.
 - Sysops no longer have special powers, such as the "/locate" command.
 - If the game is already in use, and another user tries to enter, LOTF will
prevent the second user from playing.
 - Sysops can now auto-force maintenance from the command line by using the
new "/maint" command line option. Normally, you will have no need to do
this, but it is sometimes useful in local play.

Many other changes were made in v0.9 as well. For a comprehensive list,
enter the game and type "releasenotes 0.9".
