Evolution Gaming temporarily closed a studio in Georgia

Just recently, Evolution Gaming noted that the demand for their services has grown, and all studios are working as usual, but with enhanced precautions against the coronavirus. However, on Monday they announced the temporary closure of the studio in Tbilisi.

This was the decision of the Georgian government, so the provider is suspending work there for an indefinite period. Despite the news, the share price did not fall, but even rose by 1.8% by the end of the day. The company assured that the load will be distributed to other studios. Representatives will also be in contact with the local government to find out what requirements they can meet to open a studio.

Fortunately, Tbilisi is not their key studio. And even the strike last summer, when 400 employees did not come to work, did not interfere with the normal work of Evolution as a whole. But the main threat comes from their main studio in Latvia, where it is currently unclear whether local online gambling operators will be closed or not.

Politicians in Latvia have already voted to ban the activity, as during the quarantine people can abuse gambling. However, no official order has yet been received. It is not yet clear whether the ban will apply to Evolution Gaming or not.
